Diagrams and visuals in replies

In the desktop app, the agent can answer with pictures as well as text. In the terminal these blocks stay code, with a line pointing at the desktop app.

Diagrams and images

  • A ```mermaid block (a flowchart, sequence, state, or entity diagram) is drawn as a diagram.
  • An ```svg block is drawn as an image.
  • Each has a Rendered/Code switch, so the source is always one click away.
  • Diagrams follow the app's light or dark theme. One that doesn't parse shows the error above its source.
  • Safe by design: Mermaid runs in a separate hidden window that can't reach the network, never in the app itself, and the result is shown as an image, so nothing in it can run.

Interactive visuals

Off by default. Turn on Run interactive visuals in the chat in Settings (Appearance) to let an ```html visual block run, such as a small chart with controls or a widget to try.

  • It runs in a sandboxed frame with no access to the app, no network, and no forms, popups, or navigation.
  • It has its own process, so a misbehaving one can't freeze the chat.
  • With the setting on, plain ```html blocks also get a Preview button.
  • At most three run at once; the rest wait behind a Run button.
